I pick the 4.3 because its lighter and more compact than the ls1 and easyer to work on and work with than the 4bt probably lighter too is readily available for mods and replacment parts

I vote the 4.3. It is a durable and prob easier to stuff in the bay. You will have plenty of engine to pull with too.

It looks like due to the money side of things, I will be droppinging the 4.3 for now. I still am considering the diesel for a future project.
There will be a wrench party posted in the near future.

Hahaha!!! ;D
Well I just found out from the previous owner that this MJ is a late body style MJ which means I could bolt on a 4.0 with no mods.
4.2 stroker here I come!!!

4wheeler magazine did a 4.o stroker build using many stock parts like later model head and intake, it ended up as a 4.6 and had like 238 hp and 290 torque to the wheels

BTW, if any of you guys know someone that wants a 4.0 engine that is sitting on a crate for cheap, let me know. My neighbor bought a used engine from some local company with the intent of stroking it, but later sold the jeep.
He only wants $200 for the whole engine on the crate, including the stand, lift and stuff. If you're interested, I'll find out exactly what all he's throwing in for $200. He just wants it gone from his garage.
