This is going to be fun!
we will meet just off highway 247 at camp rock road at 9am
we will leave by 9:30 and head into the johnson valley OHV area and play on some of the most amazing rock forms in southern California. There will be no set path and no real destination we will drive where the group feels we can have some fun. All levels of vehicle are encourage to come out to this as there is nothing out there that isnt by passable and there's a ton of stuff to play on
all required equipment as outlined in our rules is mandatory

Hey it's only going to be 115, no shade and if we're lucky the wind will blow. But what would a day out 4 wheeling be without a little heat stroke and sand in your teeth? ;D It is a great area to play. The rocks are even a little softer there than over at the Hammers.

Well there was only the two of us out that day. Steve Jones and I from the Hi-Desert 4x4 Group (not a club either). We headed out to explore the hills North of the Cougar Buttes area. Steve in his XJ and me in the YJ (Blue Jeep). We were following a power-line road to get into the area we wanted to check. We hit a fence and gate with a notice that it was private land. But the fence was down and it was a utility company road so we continued on. There were no developments or structures. But we did come across a vehicle parked along the path. It was intact except for the rotten tires and rat's nest where the seat used to be. I think it had a Dana 70 rear and it had a PTO winch. the headlights were still unbroken. It looked as if it had been there for 10 years. Steve cut the sidewall of a front tire and after putting on the spare, he was a little hesitant to do too much more wheeling. So we made it a short day after exploring 3 or 4 dirt roads in the same area. It was still a good day out. aaron

That is a great find with the truck. Is the windsheild still intact also? Looks like you had a great time.
