So since my recent probelem with vaccumm leaks causing rough idle and getting those fixed.... a bad Throttle Position Sensor can cause a high idle..

Since the word "throttle" is in the name of the part, it could cause issues with the idle of the vehicle.

There's a little throttle butterfly valve next to the TPS on the 6 cyl jeep motor that gets gummed up, too. It causes the same problem and will often cause the TPS sensor to trip. Take it off the throttle body and spray it with throttle body cleaner real good. The TPS goes out on these things too...I need to take care of this same issue on my jeep also.
