I am looking to see if anyone has a decent 40 Ch. CB radio that they are interested in getting rid of.

Let me talk to a friend of mine. He comes up with CB deals all the time.

Anthony picked one up from radioshack, same with his antenna. Its probably not the greatest but I never have a problem transmitting to him nor have any problems hearing him.

Hi all, Leeps told me about this thread. I run another fairly large forum about CBs and Ham radio. There are lots of good deals in the For Sale section all the time. You can find it at: www.worldwidedx.com. Also, I do CB tune-ups, peak and tune, mods, installations on the side and have all the necessary test equipment. If you want new equipment, I can get CBs, too for very competitive prices (I've set up a small business to sell CBs). Let me know if I can be of any help.

If you are just needing some tuning and repair you can always get it to me and I can get it to tim.

It's probably just a install issue. I know it sounds simplistic, but without the right test equipment, it's difficult to get it right. It's not that hard and I'm happy to show anyone interested in how to do the basic install, but it does help to have someone show you.
BTW, what CB and and antenna did you purchase?

I hate to tell you this, but the problem with that setup is the Lil Wil' antenna. They are just too small for decent range. I have one for my wife's car that I put up sometimes since she won't let me put a decent antenna on there.
The Wilson 1000 is much better if you want a magnet mount antenna. It's more $$, but it's night and day....

It recieves pretty damn well though. I was listening to truckers on the 18 from my house which puts them at least 2 miles out just to the 18

Yep, 2 miles is about right for that antenna. You'll get a little more in open country.
