Hey my truck over heats when I move slow. I was wondering if I could remove the fan blade next to the radiator and install an after market electrical fan to cool it better. Is this possible and do u think this work better? 76 Ford F250 4x4.
I just don't want to be on a slow moving trail and have the truck overheat. If I am moving street speeds I get enough air flow. Bit I want to fix this problem for out slow runs. Also hold up for the mud and water stuff.
Any tips would be great.
Thanks guys.

Get rid of the fan clutch with a billet fan spacer and use a fan shroud. Electric fans work ok but your going to need a monster fan to pull the same air a mechanicle fan can. Also make sure you have a good thermostat and the radiator is clean

My 69 F250 is the same way, like backing a trailer up or something the thing heats up. It needs a fan shroud too. Oh well, after the Roush crate motor, I'll install an aluminum radiator and electric fans.

T stat is good well was good but going to replace. Going to flush Radiator water is yellow ish. Also I have no fan shroud. Any-tips on getting a new one? Junk yards around me only have broken shrouds.
Also what is a good radiator flush for it? It is kind of rusted up. I am not looking to replace it.

make a fan shroud, all you need is some sheet metal and zip ties

prestone super flush works good, get the kit with the back flow adapter and it pushes a lot of junk out
like kyle said some thin sheet metal works pretty good for making a shroud or online at year one

Just use a thin sheetmetal and make a 2" deep lip for the face and cut out a whole for the fan blade that is about 3/16 of an inch larger in diameter and bend a piece of sheetmetal into a circle that sticks out enough to cover the blades and weld it on, see what i'm saying?

Well I got the fan shroud and installed it. I drove the truck around for a few min and the temp stayed down. I hope this takes care of the problems. Flushed radiator installed new T stat good fresh radiator fluids.
Now I wanna take it out. I would love to take my truck and the jeep for our big run but I will need a trailer to hold them both. Anyone know some 1 that has a 32' trailer for rent or something?

Yea I have to trailer them up. Even if I was able to drive the truck the steering sucks. I don't want to repair it because of the $$$. Trust me you do not want to drive my truck that far on the freeway. Its to loud and no radio. Top speed is like 50 mph and it will be running high rpms. The tow hitch I install is only for pulling people out when stuck. Wont work to well with pulling a trailer.
So I am still looking for a big trailer. Hope you guys can help me out. That would rock ;D
